Youth Suicide Prevention Awareness

  • This is a three-and-a-half-hour session which aims to help people who work with youth in understanding underlying issues young people face which can cause suicidal thoughts, and to recognise the early signs of suicidal thoughts.
  • The course builds confidence in the ability to support vulnerable young people and reduce the risk of a suicide attempt being made.
  • We also provide information about relevant suicide support services which young people can access in the Bexley Borough.
  • This training is suitable for anyone working with young people who wants to improve their knowledge and understanding on the subject of suicide prevention – all with the aim of helping youth at their most vulnerable moments. It’s most useful to those who are most likely to come across a young person (a child, a student, a relative, a member of the public or a stranger) who appears to be struggling with life. Outside of these areas a charge per group session delivered is applicable.
  • Training can be provided in person or virtually using Microsoft Teams.
