Stylists flock to sign up to Ambassador initiative
Barbers and stylists from across Bexley have joined in an innovative initiative to support the wellbeing of their customers.
Delivered by Mind in Bexley with funding support from the Public Health Team at Bexley Council, 20 stylists from five barbershops and hair salons have undertaken the charity’s Ambassador training sessions over January in this phase of the project, with many more joining in the coming weeks.

Barbers, stylists, tattooists and nailbar technicians can sign up to become a Mind in Bexley Wellbeing Ambassador. Training equips staff to be able to spot signs of anxiety and depression in customers, be empathetic listeners, and good at signposting those needing extra support to organisations where they can receive it.
Training sessions are delivered by Mind in Bexley’s Development Lead, Simon Dolby and supported by Damian Sirso and Monique Virgin.
Mr Dolby said: “The current phase of training has been great fun and all the barbers and stylists involved are really committed to the project and being caring, compassionate Wellbeing Ambassadors for the charity.”
There is still time to sign up to be a part of the initiative. Contact Simon, Damian and Monique by emailing ambassador@mindinbexley.org.uk
