Mental Elf Festive Fun Run returns to Bexley in 2026

Mind in Bexley is delighted to announce that Mental Elf Festive Fun Run will return to Bexleyheath in 2026.

The festive 5km event will take place on Sunday 6 December 2026 at 10am, giving families, friends and supporters the chance to kick off the Christmas season while raising vital funds for local mental health services.

Mental Elf is a family-friendly fundraising event hosted by Mind in Bexley. Participants can run, jog, walk, hop, skip or jump their way around the course, with the event open to people of all ages and abilities. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Fancy dress is not essential, but it is very much encouraged. There will be competitions on the day, including best-dressed elf and best-dressed pet, giving participants plenty of opportunity to get creative with their festive outfits.

All participants will also receive a special Mental Elf medal.

The 5km route will start at Danson Stables and take participants around the edge of Danson Park and the boating pool. The course will be clearly marked with direction arrows, and stewards will be placed along the route to encourage runners and walkers.

There is parking available in Danson Park, although charges apply. Participants are encouraged to car-share where possible, or consider walking, cycling, jogging or using public transport to help reduce the impact on the environment and other park users.

Taking part in Mental Elf is a fun and active way to support your own wellbeing, while also raising funds to support the work of Mind in Bexley.

As an independent mental health charity, Mind in Bexley works to promote and nurture mental health and wellbeing across the borough through information, activities, advice and support.

Physical activity can have a positive impact on mental health, helping to improve self-esteem and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Mental Elf offers a chance to get active outdoors, spend time with others and support your local mental health charity at the same time.
