New July to September Recovery College Prospectus Now Available

Mind in Bexley has published the latest edition of our Recovery College Prospectus, featuring a wide range of free courses, groups and workshops taking place from July to September 2026.

With summer months ahead, the new programme includes opportunities to get outdoors, connect with others and enjoy the benefits of being active in nature.

One of the highlights is the Walk and Talk Group, which takes place at Danson Park on Thursday afternoons, weather permitting. The group offers a relaxed opportunity to enjoy gentle exercise, meet new people and spend time in one of Bexley’s much-loved green spaces. Walking and talking together can be a simple but powerful way to support mental wellbeing, helping people to feel more connected while also looking after their physical health.

The programme also includes Open Spaces, based at the Mind in Bexley allotments on Alers Road in Bexleyheath. The project gives people the chance to get involved in gardening, food growing and other outdoor activities. Gardening can support both mental and physical wellbeing by helping people to stay active, build confidence, spend time in nature and connect with others in a welcoming environment.

However, the Recovery College recognises that not everyone wants to be outdoors during the summer. For some people, indoor activities, online workshops or gentler sessions may feel more comfortable or accessible. That is why the July to September prospectus includes a wide choice of activities to suit different interests, needs and confidence levels.

The programme features online wellbeing sessions such as Healthy Mind and Body, Meditation Practice, Tai Chi, and Drum and Movement. There are also creative activities, including Art Club, Creative Writing, Stitch the Mind, Make, Mend and Motivate, Music for Fun and Photography for Fun.

For people who want to learn more about mental health and develop practical coping strategies, the Recovery College also offers workshops including Anger Management, Body Image, Coping with Depression, Emotional Intelligence, Low Mood and Depression, Suicide Awareness, Understanding Anxiety and Panic, and Understanding Self-Harm.

The prospectus is organised under the Ways to Wellbeing themes: Be Active, Keep Learning, Connect and Take Notice. These themes reflect simple actions that can help support mental health and wellbeing, whether that means learning something new, building social connections, becoming more active or taking time to notice the world around you.

All Recovery College courses are free and open to anyone aged 18 or over who lives, works, volunteers or has a GP within the London Borough of Bexley.
