Bexley support services come together for Carers Week
Mind in Bexley would like to thank everyone who attended today’s Bexley Carers Event at the Holiday Inn, Bexley.
The event was organised by Bexley Carers Partnership and brought together unpaid carers, local organisations and support services from across the borough. It was an important opportunity for people to find out more about the help available in Bexley.
Staff from Mind in Bexley were pleased to meet and speak with carers throughout the day, sharing information about our Carers Service and the wider range of mental health and wellbeing support available through the charity.
The event was also attended by Louie French, MP for Old Bexley and Sidcup (pictured), who stopped to speak with our colleague Viv about the work Mind in Bexley is doing to support unpaid carers and people experiencing mental health difficulties.

Further unpaid carers event in Belvedere
A second unpaid carers event will be held on Tuesday 30 June at Belvedere Gurdwara, 31 Mitchell Close, Belvedere DA17 6AA.
Staff from Mind in Bexley will also be attending this event, where people will be able to find out more about our Carers Service and the wider mental health and wellbeing support available locally. Find out more on the Bexley Carers website.
Carers Exhibition available to view
Mind in Bexley is also encouraging people to view our Carers Exhibition “Navigating the Journeys of Unpaid Mental Health Carers”.
The exhibition is dedicated to the voices and experiences of unpaid carers who support loved ones with mental health challenges.
Written by our CEO, Dr David Palmer, it shines a light on the often-hidden experiences of carers and the impact that caring can have on people’s lives. The exhibition is also available as a downloadable A5 booklet on the Mind in Bexley website.
We hope the exhibition will help raise awareness of the important role unpaid carers play, while encouraging more people to recognise themselves as carers and seek support when they need it.
