Mind in Bexley Open Day a huge success on Great Mental Health Day

Mind in Bexley organised an Open Day on Friday 26 January – timed to coincide with the Great Mental Health Day 2024.

The Great Mental Health Day is an annual event aimed to get Londoners talking about our mental health and wellbeing and to help break that stigma that so often exists around the subject. It is also an opportunity to share awareness of the great local support services that are available, as well as acting as a reminder that we can all do our bit to spread hope and kindness, and to help each other.

There were also refreshments available and the afternoon sessions saw access to a range of free massages. Guest speaker Laura Burke also gave a talk to around 25 people in the final session of the day.

Partners from the London Borough of Bexley, Healthwatch Bexley and Re-Instate were also on hand to offer information and guidance to the attendees.

Andrew Burke, Family and Carers Service, said: “It was fabulous to see so many people take time out of their days and come to our event. We had a busy day with people talking to the range of services and it was full house for our amazing speaker. Thanks to everyone who came along and hopefully we managed to offer support and inspiration to many members of the community.”
