Wellbeing Outreach brings support into the heart of Erith
Mind in Bexley and Active Horizons joined forces to deliver a Wellbeing Outreach event in Erith, helping local people learn more about the mental health, wellbeing and community support available across the borough.
Staff from both organisations welcomed residents at Pier Road on Wednesday 29 July.
The informal drop-in event gave people the opportunity to ask questions, discuss their circumstances and find out about services that may be able to support them or someone they care about.
No appointment was needed, allowing people to stop by for a friendly and confidential conversation. Staff were available to explain the different forms of support available, provide information and offer signposting to suitable local services.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit our teams and say hello. Whether people came with a particular question or simply wanted to learn more about the support available locally, every conversation helped to raise awareness and make mental health information more accessible.
We would also like to thank Active Horizons for its support in organising and delivering the event. The youth-focused community organisation, based in Erith, works closely with local residents and has an important role in helping people connect with opportunities and support.
Yeukai Taruvinga, CEO at Active Horizons, said:
“Community outreach is important because it brings information and support directly to people in places they know and feel comfortable visiting. Not everyone knows where to turn when they are experiencing difficulties, and some people may find it challenging to approach a service for the first time.
“By working collaboratively with organisations such as Mind in Bexley, we can reach more people, share our knowledge and help ensure that everyone has an opportunity to access the mental health, wellbeing and community services they need. We were delighted to speak with local residents and be part of such a positive event.”
The outreach formed part of the ongoing partnership between Mind in Bexley and Active Horizons. By working together in the community, the organisations aim to reduce barriers to support, increase awareness of local services and help people identify the right next step for their wellbeing.
