Navigating the Journeys of Unpaid Mental Health Carers: A Powerful Exhibition for Carers Week
This Carers Week (9–16 June), Mind in Bexley is proud to present “Navigating the Journeys of Unpaid Mental Health Carers”, a moving exhibition dedicated to the voices of unpaid carers supporting loved ones with mental health challenges.
The exhibition is being launched at the Bexley Carers event on Wednesday 11th June at the Nest Community Centre in Thamesmead (1pm-5pm). The event is hosted by Bexley Carers Partnership and Bexley Wellbeing Partnership.
The Carers Exhibition has been produced by Mind in Bexley’s CEO Dr David Palmer. It gives voices to those too often unheard, and shines a light on an often-hidden crisis. The exhibition is a heartfelt tribute to those who deserve meaningful support that resonate with their lived experience.
Unpaid carers provide vital support to families and communities, yet too often feel overlooked and undervalued. While the UK economy benefits from an estimated £184 billion in unpaid care annually, Carer’s Allowance remains just £83.30 a week.
Join us this Carers Week. Visit the exhibition, listen to their stories, and help turn recognition into real change. Let’s ensure carers are not only seen – but truly supported.
