Dr David Palmer elected Chair of Mind in London
We are delighted to share that Dr David Palmer, our CEO, has been elected Chair of Mind in London, the partnership of local Minds working together to make sure every Londoner experiencing mental health problems gets the support and respect they deserve.
David has been involved with Mind in London since its beginnings and has led on its research and contributed to its strategy and funding work, including the Thrive LDN partnership that produced the People Need People study, a co-produced piece of public mental health research led by Londoners with lived experience.
He also brings more than 10 years’ experience of running a social enterprise as co-founder of Revival Food & Mood, the music-based community cafe in Whitstable, East Kent, which has become a model for how enterprise, creativity and mental health support can sit together.
As Chair, he will help steer Mind in London’s next phase as it develops into a Community Interest Company (CIC), strengthening its voice in shaping mental health strategy across the capital and building its research, funding and influencing work on behalf of local Minds and the residents they serve.

Lucy Dodd, Strategic Lead, Mind in London said: “It’s an exciting time for Mind in London, building on a decade of collaboration and ensuring Londoners’ voices remain at the heart of our work. I’m delighted to be working with David in his new role as Chair. He brings a wealth of experience, insight and passion from his leadership at Mind in Bexley and I’m excited about what his leadership will bring as we continue to grow Mind in London’s voice, influence and ambition across the capital.”
David has now taken up the role, with Emma Turner (CEO of Mind in Croydon) joining as Vice Chair.
