Two Generous Donations Boost Support for the Bexley Community Pantry

Two acts of kindness have recently made a huge difference to the Bexley Community Pantry – supporting local families through some of the most challenging times.

Mind in Bexley is grateful for the continued generosity shown by residents and local businesses who help us keep this vital service running.

McBrides Accountants Donated Essential Pantry Items

On Friday 5th December, the team from McBrides Accountants in Sidcup visited the Pantry with a large and much-needed donation.

Their staff had been liaising with the Pantry to find out what was needed most and then they delivered them – helping us restock shelves and ensure local families have access to everyday essentials.

This thoughtful donation came at an important time and will directly support people in our community who rely on the Pantry each week. Thanks to everyone at McBrides!

Local Businessman Louis Webb Raised £2,000 for the Pantry

We are also incredibly thankful to Louis Webb, owner of New Eltham Butchers in Sidcup, who has shown remarkable dedication to helping the Pantry.

Louis recently took on the Three Peaks Challenge, climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours alongside four friends. Together, the group raised an amazing £10,000, which they generously shared across several charities. Louis chose to donate £2,000 to the Bexley Community Pantry.

In addition to this remarkable fundraising effort, Louis has also been kindly helping the Pantry team by collecting supermarket shopping, a practical, hands-on contribution that makes day-to-day operations much easier.

Bexley Community Pantry Manager, Viv Viney, said:

We very rarely get donations of tinned meats, which is sad as most of our clients can make two meals with one tin of meat by adding fresh vegetables which they get from the Pantry.

On our last shopping trip, Louis also added some Christmas ‘treats’ for the clients and their children. Well done Louis and a BIG thank you from ALL of our clients here at the Pantry – you’re a star!”

Both donations, from McBrides Accountants and Louis Webb, highlight the strength and compassion within our community. Their donations help us continue providing groceries and wellbeing support to families in the Borough.

Viv Viney shared her gratitude for both donations:

“These large and generous donations have made such a difference to our stock at such a challenging time for families across Bexley”
