Celebrating Trustees’ Week: A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Trustees and Committee Members

This week marks Trustees’ Week – an annual celebration of the people who give their time, skills, and leadership to charities across the UK.

Our CEO Dr David Palmer and Chair Shaheen Westcombe MBE

At Mind in Bexley and East Kent, we are taking this opportunity to recognise and thank the dedicated individuals who sit on our Board of Trustees, our Revival Strategic Committee, and our various sub-committees.

Our trustees and committee members volunteer their time completely freely, not for recognition or reward, but because they care deeply about improving mental health and wellbeing in our communities. They bring professional expertise, thoughtful challenge, and strategic oversight, helping us stay resilient, accountable, and future-focused.

They play a vital role in ensuring that:

  • Our services remain safe, effective, and compassionate
  • We stay rooted in our core values of kindness, respect, and hope
  • We continue to grow and adapt to meet local needs across Bexley and East Kent
  • We champion mental health support that is relational, community-led, and life-changing

Trustees carry a significant legal and ethical responsibility. They support us through exciting opportunities and difficult decisions alike, always with one aim in mind: to ensure we make the greatest possible difference to the people we serve.

A message of thanks from our CEO, Dr David Palmer:

“To all of our trustees and committee members: thank you!

Your time, expertise and guidance are the steady foundations of our work at Mind in Bexley and East Kent. You shoulder responsibility without seeking recognition, ask the right questions, and help us hold fast to our values of kindness, respect and hope.

Because of your leadership, our services remain safe, effective and compassionate; we continue to adapt to local needs; and we keep championing mental health support that is relational, community-led and life-changing.

Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for your support and advice.
Thank you for believing in what we do, and in the people we serve.

Your contribution may be quiet, but it is powerful and essential. We see it, we value it, and we are profoundly grateful.”
