McBrides Accountants Go the Extra Mile for Mind in Bexley
We are thrilled to announce that McBrides Accountants, a well-established accountancy firm based in Foots Cray, has chosen Mind in Bexley and East Kent as their Charity of the Year.
McBrides, part of the top 40 accountancy group DJH, has been a cornerstone of the local business community for over 50 years. Their decision to support our mental health services comes at a time when demand across Bexley is higher than ever.
With one in four people in the borough experiencing a mental health issue and financial worries affecting over 80% of residents, the need for accessible and compassionate mental health support has never been greater.

We are particularly excited that McBrides are looking to go the distance – literally – for our cause. The team has already committed to running the Mental Elf 5K in Danson Park, Bexleyheath on Sunday 7 December.
These fundraising efforts will help us continue delivering life-saving support to people across the borough who are living with anxiety, depression and other hidden mental health conditions.
Simon Dolby, Development Lead for Mind in Bexley & East Kent, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the team at McBrides voted for us to be their charity of the year. We can’t exist without the generosity of local supporters.
“Each month, over 500 people come to us for help—but we know there are many more suffering in silence. With the help of community-minded businesses like McBrides, we can reach further and support even more people.”
Tanya Hamilton, Managing Partner at McBrides and a qualified mental health first aider, shared her enthusiasm for the year ahead: “Each year we select a local charity to support, and this time we’re proud to back Mind in Bexley as they head towards their 40th anniversary in 2026. Their work in the community is vital, and we’re looking forward to doing our part – raising awareness, fundraising, and giving back to a charity that gives so much.”
We’re deeply grateful to the team at McBrides for championing mental health and for their commitment to making a difference.
