Volunteers Week – here’s my experience 🙂
I applied for a volunteer role after finding the web page on our website mindinbexley.org.uk/volunteering. This web page provided a nice insight to volunteering with Mind in Bexley and the opportunities available. I was able to apply for a volunteering role directly on this webpage, which was quick and easy.
I really enjoy every aspect of my volunteering at Mind in Bexley. I have felt welcomed since day one by Lynne Forester the Volunteer Lead and Mentoring Co-ordinator and other members of the team. I love working directly with our other volunteers and our great service-users. Volunteering has helped me feel useful again and that I am contributing to something good as such, my Mental Well-being has improved greatly. I have learnt many new skills whilst volunteering such as Facilitating groups and making befriender calls.
To anyone interested in volunteering, my response would be ‘just do it’ – you won’t regret it!
