Lockdown Story

Anon: It has felt lonely at times caring for my elderly mother. Because of lockdown I have sometimes had to use the phone to do my caring. I do split the care of mum with my brother. He has been getting the food shopping and I pay Mum’s bills and am on standby when my brother works because he is a key worker. I haven’t seen my daughter since Xmas. I also haven’t seen my son since the beginning of lockdown. I do miss them but we have been keeping in contact via what’s app. The caring role has been more difficult during this time and it is good to know that Carers support at MIND are at the other end of the phone when there is a problem or you just need reassuring that you are doing the right thing.
