In Bexley we have seen many fantastic charities, organisations, groups and individuals supporting their community with a variety of ways to stay well. Within Mind in Bexley we have introduced many new initiatives to support our community through this pandemic through extending our digital offering, extending our befriending service and we opened a food bank early on during lockdown that is open to any Bexley resident to donate and/or collect a food parcel. This service is open every Tuesday and Thursday between 10 am and 12 noon next to our offices on Devonshire Road Bexleyheath.
We are now extending our offer and starting a food delivery service ‘Food for Thought’ for our service users. We understand that many of those accessing our services do not fall under the ‘shielded’ government programme and leaving home may increase some difficulties they may experience. We want to reach out and support people to stay well both physically and psychologically during these testing times. The food for thought scheme is open to anyone using a Mind in Bexley service, these includes:
We are allocating a personal allowance of £15 weekly (subject to demand) for people to register an online food/ personal care items delivery. Complete this online form and our team will be in touch with you to arrange delivery (within 5 working days).
PLEASE NOTE: We deliver every Thursday. Please submit your request by Tuesday to receive your delivery that week. If you submit your form after Tuesday your food will be with you the following Thursday.
