Become a Community Ambassador with Mind in Bexley
Supporters of Mind in Bexley can become Community Ambassadors for the charity by joining an exclusive programme designed to help champion its work in the community.
To qualify, supporters should have:
- Completed Mind in Bexley Ambassador training
- Agreed to be a champion of Mind in Bexley in the community or workplace, or have organised a fundraiser for the charity
- Signed up to receive the charity’s monthly supporter e-bulletin
Ambassadors typically devote one hour a week to volunteering for Mind in Bexley. This can include tasks such as:

Harveys Barbers, Bexleyheath
- Putting up posters about wellbeing services and/or fundraising activities on staff noticeboards at work (please request permission first)
- Posting Mind in Bexley messages on social media or adding supportive comments to the charity’s posts
- Organising a fundraiser at work, in the community, or for family and friends
- Helping to staff an information stand organised by the charity

Basic training lasts 90 minutes and equips Ambassadors with information on:
- Mind in Bexley’s services
- Key mental health statistics
- Local mental health support — both proactive and crisis support
- Myths and facts around suicide
- Social action opportunities for Ambassadors
Optional additional wellbeing training is available.

Mind in Bexley has also developed an additional programme for barbershops, salons, tattoo parlours and nailbars in the Borough.
Funded by Bexley Council’s Public Health Team, Mind in Bexley has been signing up business from across Belvedere, Bexleyheath, Crayford, Sidcup and Welling to help pioneer a programme to train staff in these outlets to provide wellbeing support to their customers.
